"What are they saying?"
Luke turned abruptly at the sound of Laura's voice and grinned. "I thought you didn't believe in spying on our son?"
"Just give me the glass," she snapped, grabbing for his. He laughed and relinquished his post at the door to her.
"Welcome to the dark side, babe."
Laura rolled her eyes and situated the glass by her ear. Figuring she had been there long enough, Alexis stepped back so Charisma could listen.
"Your turn. I've heard enough."
"Thanks," Charisma said, hurrying to fill her place by the door.
"So, what did you hear?" Carly asked anxiously as soon as Luke walked over. Her eyes were dancing, and she looked like a kid on Christmas morning, waiting to see what Santa had brought.
He chuckled at her excitement and pulled her away from the door. "Liz told him she loves him, too, and then one of them tore up something. They said something about divorce right beforehand....Natasha, do you know anything about that?" He looked over at Alexis and raised an eyebrow quizzically.
"Sorry, but I can't say." She smiled slightly, so Luke would know the reason. He nodded, understanding that she meant they were her clients, which confirmed his question.
"Well, at least it sounds like they're not going through with it."
"That's what I heard, too."
"They were going to get a divorce?" Carly whispered, shocked.
"That's the way I heard it," Luke confirmed. "But it sounded like one of them tore up the papers, so I think they changed their minds."
She smiled. "So, they're staying married? That's the best news I've heard in ages! It actually worked, our plan worked!"
"Our plan?" Luke asked, staring her down.
"Okay, okay, your plan, but I helped!" she insisted, pouting.
"Of course you did. Where would we be without that scheming little brain of yours?"
She smiled proudly and nodded, happy that he was giving her some recognition.
"Okay, I know I've been out of the loop, but have all of you been working together on this?" Alexis asked.
"Yep. We've been doing everything we can to get those two together since Lucky came back here. Although I can't take credit for the marriage, they did that one all on their own, thanks to a whole lot of alcohol, from the looks of it."
She nodded, remembering what Liz had told her. "I had a feeling that's what had happened. Even you couldn't make them get married! It's too bad they don't remember..." she stopped, realizing that was said in confidence.
"A-ha! I knew it!" Luke exclaimed. "Man, do I wish I could have seen their faces when they woke up and realized what they had done. That must have been priceless."
"All right, I can't listen anymore," Laura whispered, stepping away from the door.
"What's wrong, baby?" Luke asked, smiling at the disturbed look on her face.
"Let's just say the conversation just took a turn that I don't need to think about, let alone hear!" she said, shuddering a little. "That's my baby in there, I just can't..." She shivered again, causing Luke to laugh. "I knew I should have stayed out there!"
"Oh man, I'm missing the good stuff!" Carly exclaimed, snatching the glass from her outstretched hand and rushing to the door. Laura laughed and shook her head, standing back to watch as they continued to listen.
"Uh-oh!" Carly gasped a few minutes later, backing away from the door. "They're coming out!"
"What are we waiting for? Let's get the hell out of here!" Luke whispered, hurrying down the hallway back to their table. The three women were close behind, and they all fell into their seats, out of breath, as the door to his dressing room finally opened.

Liz smiled slightly. "What do we do now? I have no idea. This all happened so fast, Lucky, I'm still kind of dizzy."
"I know the feeling," he said huskily, gazing down at her, his eyes filled with desire. She flushed slightly under his intense stare, her pulse quickening again.
"I guess first, we should give those back to Alexis," she said, her voice cracking a little as she pointed to the torn papers, still in Lucky's hand, her eyes never leaving his.
"Yeah, the sooner we get rid of them, the better. Then what? Do we just go on like we were before?"
Feeling bolder, Liz stepped forward, her body mere inches from his. "Only this time, we won't be pretending."
Lucky could feel his palms starting to sweat in response. Having her so close was doing things to him he never thought possible. He cleared his throat nervously and smiled. "Just act like we meant to get married all along?"
"Yeah, although what do we do about your dad? He knows the truth."
He gently caressed her hair, tucking some of it behind her ear. "You're so beautiful."
She blushed and leaned her face into his hand. "Thanks, but you didn't answer my question. What do we do about Luke?"
"To be honest, my dad is the farthest thing from my mind right now." He gently rubbed his thumb along her cheek, loving how soft her skin felt.
Liz couldn't help smiling at the insinuation in his voice. "I think I like the way your mind is working."
"Well, you know, we still have that Monte Carlo trip...."
"Mmm, that's right. Have I ever told you how much I love your brother?"
Lucky frowned and shook her head. "No, I can't say that you have. Should I be jealous?"
She giggled lightly. "No, definitely not! It may have taken me a while to realize, but you're the only man for me, and I don't ever see that changing."
"So are you," he said softly.
Unable to resist, Liz smirked slightly at him and tilted her head. "I'm the only man for you?"
He laughed and punched her playfully. "No You know what I meant!"
Playing along, she shook her head and stepped back a little. "I don't think I do. My husband just called me a man, I'm not sure what to make of that..."
Lucky stepped closer to her and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her against him and dropping the divorce papers onto the floor. He gazed down at her lustfully, causing her to blush again as she felt his eyes roaming her body. "Oh, there's no way I could ever make that mistake. Trust me, I am very aware that you're a woman."
"That's good," she whispered hoarsely, her legs turning to jelly as the room suddenly began to feel incredibly warm. She tightened her grip on him to steady herself. "I've never met another man who's had the kind of effect on me that you do."
"And what would that be?" he asked, bringing his face closer to hers, his breath tickling her nose.
Liz swallowed, her head swimming. "I don't think I can explain it. I just...I feel all shaky, like I'm going to faint...but in a good way." She sighed and reached up to touch his face. "Sometimes I can't even believe how gorgeous you are. I didn't think I'd be able to make it through that awards show when I saw you in those leather pants."
It was Lucky's turn to blush. "Well, I guess we're even then, because that dress you wore was doing something to me, too, I just didn't want to admit it back then."
"You're doing something to me right now," she whispered, staring deeply into his eyes, her hand sliding around to the back of his neck, sending a small shiver down his spine.
In response, Lucky's mouth came crashing down on hers, taking her breath away. She moaned softly, her lips parting slightly as the kiss deepened. They kissed passionately for a few minutes, their tongues exploring each other's mouths, their hands exploring each other's bodies, until finally, Liz pulled away, gasping for air.
"What's wrong?" he asked breathlessly, afraid he had done something to frighten her.
"We better stop, or else we won't be able to," she gasped.
He smiled, relieved that she had been as swept up as he was. "There's a lock on the door,' he said suggestively, stepping closer to her again.
He laughed and pushed him gently away. "Sorry, but I refuse for our first time together...that we can remember, at least... to be in some dingy room at the Outback!"
Lucky sighed and backed off, seeing her point. "All right, but we're going straight home after this!" He bent down to pick up the divorce papers from the floor, then held out his hand to her.
"I like the sound of that," Liz sighed, walking with him to the door. "Home. Our home."
He smiled and kissed her quickly on the forehead. "Me too. Come on, we can give these back to Alexis, then get the hell out of here."
Liz giggled and laced her fingers through his. "My, aren't we in a hurry all of a sudden!"
He stopped, his hand on the doorknob. "Are you saying you'd rather stay and hang out with my parents and Charisma?"
She thought about it for a second, then frowned. "Good point. Let's go!"
