After fidgeting in her seat for a few minutes, Carly jumped up and started for the hallway where Liz had headed earlier. Luke grabbed her arm to stop her.
"Caroline! You can't go down there!" he scolded. Laura smiled, happy he had finally come to his senses, but her relief didn't last long, because he wasn't finished.
He grinned and reached for his empty water glass. "At least, you can't go without one of these. It makes everything much clearer." He chuckled and tossed a wink over to Charisma, who had joined them after Liz left. "Right, partner?"
"Thanks, Uncle Luke," Carly laughed, grabbing her own empty glass. "Is anyone coming with me?"
"You don't have to ask me twice," he chuckled, jumping out of his chair, glass in hand. Charisma giggled and did the same, following them to the hallway while Laura sighed and shook her head. Part of her wanted to go too, but she refused to stoop to their level.
"Hey, where are they going?" Alexis asked, perking up as the trio rushed past her table. "Luke!"
He turned around and grinned. "Natasha!"
"Where are you three going with those glasses?" she asked suspiciously.
"Are you asking as a lawyer?" he shot back defensively.
She laughed and shook her head. "You're going to spy on them, aren't you?" When none of them responded, she stood up, grabbing her own glass on the way. "I want in on this, too," she announced, hurrying over to them. She turned to Jax and grinned. "You coming?"
He laughed and shook his head. "I don't think the door's big enough for all of us, you go ahead and fill me in later."
"Wait, you two know....?" Luke asked, frowning in confusion.
Alexis nodded. "Yeah, we've known all along, just like you have. Just don't ask how. Hurry up, or else we'll miss the good stuff!"
Luke chuckled and followed her down the hallway. "Spoken like a true Cassidine."
"Shut up," she grumbled, looking around. "Which one is it?"
"This one," Charisma whispered, pointing to the closed door next to her. Instantly, Carly was there, pressing her glass against it and frowning as she strained to hear whatever was going on inside.
"Anything?" Luke asked anxiously. She shook her head for a second, then stopped, a smile spreading across her face.
"Well?" Charisma prompted impatiently. Carly was hogging the entire door, so none of them could get in and listen along with her.
"Shh!" she hissed, silencing them. A moment later, she stepped away, letting someone else in. Luke took the empty spot, but Alexis pushed him aside and pressed her glass up to the door as well, their faces only inches apart.
He frowned at her. "Normally, being this close to a Cassidine give me hives."
"Shh!" she growled, hitting him on the shoulder. "I'm trying to listen!"
"What did you hear?" Charisma asked Carly, pulling her away from the door so they could talk.
"Lucky told her that he loves her," she announced proudly. "It's about time, don't you think?"
Charisma grinned, nodding. "It's way past that. I've never met two people more stubborn than they are."
"Then you obviously don't know me or Luke very well," Carly chuckled. "It must be a Spencer thing."
"But Liz isn't a Spencer."
Carly turned and looked at Luke and Alexis, who were both grinning as they listened in on the rest of the couple's conversation. "Yes, she is. Like Luke's always said, she was born to be a Spencer."

Liz stared at Lucky in shock. "You...you just said...."
He sighed and ran a shaky hand through his hair. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have... I just..."
"Lucky, wait," she said quickly, stopping him from rambling. "Did you just say that you loved me?"
"Yeah," he said softly, looking down at his feet. "I do, but I know you don't, so I'll understand if you want to run out of here." He turned and reached for the divorce papers that had been sitting on his dressing table. "I guess I might as well sign these." He turned to the first signature page and frowned. "You haven't signed them yet?"
Liz smiled and shook her head. "If you would give me a chance to speak..."
He laughed softly and nodded, still looking down. "Sorry."
"I was stunned at first when you said... what you said. I didn't think you felt that way. I had hoped you did, but..."
His head snapped up and he looked into her eyes, searching them to see if she was serious. "Hoped?"
She bit her lip lightly and nodded. "Yeah, but you always seemed so excited about the divorce and everything, and you were so determined to prove Luke wrong, I never thought you could feel the same way I did."
"The same way as what?" he asked, waiting anxiously for her to say the words he wanted so badly to hear.
She chuckled slightly and shook her head. "You're going to make me say it, aren't you?"
"It's only fair. I mean, I had to..."
Liz took a deep breath and looked up into his eyes, those crystal-blue eyes that she felt like she could drown in. "I love you, Lucky. I loved you back when we were 14, and now that I look back at everything, I don't think I ever really stopped. Even when we were at each other's throats, deep down, I still loved you."
Lucky smiled broadly at her. "Me too. Ever since I came here for that vacation, I haven't been able to stop thinking about you. I told myself then that it was just because you annoyed me so much, but now I finally see what my dad has been talking about. I've loved you all along. We were meant to be together."
She grinned, then looked down at the papers in his hands, her smile faltering a little. "So, what should we do about those?"
Lucky held them up in front of him and thought about it for a moment. "Well, we could either get the divorce and then try dating like normal people, or we could forget about it and stay married."
Liz looked into his eyes and could see that he was thinking the same thing she was. She smiled and shook her head. "I don't want to get divorced."
"Neither do I." He stared at the papers for a moment, then grinned and quickly tore them in half. "That felt good."
"You know, I've wanted to do that since the moment Alexis gave them to me."
Lucky looked down at her and stepped closer, quickly licking his lips. "And I've wanted to do this ever since you walked in that door." He cradled the back of her head with his free hand, still clutching the torn divorce papers in the other, and leaned down to meet her lips with a tentative kiss. She quickly threw her arms around his neck and pulled herself closer to him, deepening it.
Lucky transferred his arms to her waist, hugging her body against his as they kissed. This was their first real kiss, not a heat-of-the-moment one like in the parking lot of Lulu's camp, or a drunken one like in Vegas, or one that was forced because people were watching. For the first time, they were kissing because they wanted to, because they were in love, and it was the most electrifying kiss they had ever shared.
After a few minutes, they pulled apart breathlessly, their faces flushed. Their eyes were locked together passionately, and an instant later, they were kissing again. When they finally broke the second kiss, Lucky sighed and stepped back a little, giving them both some air.
"So," he said, taking a deep breath as his pulse slowly returned to normal. "What do we do now?"
